What is included

Additional information

The Sagrada Família is the masterpiece of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, unique in its conception and architecture. It was begun in 1882 and is still under construction as its financing is based on donations. The Sagrada Família is the most emblematic monument in all of Barcelona, and when it is finished it will be the tallest church in the world.

The Sagrada Família was imagined by Antoni Gaudí with a total of 18 towers, each dedicated to an important religious figure. Twelve of the towers are made in honor of the Twelve Apostles and are distributed on the three facades of the Temple. The other six towers are dedicated to the four evangelists, the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ.

The opening hours of the Sagrada Família are as follows:

  1. From November to February: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 18:00. Sundays, from 10:30 to 18:00.

  2. March and October: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 19:00. Sundays, from 10:30 to 19:00.

  3. From April to September: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 20:00. Sundays, from 10:30 to 20:00.

The Management may modify the opening hours and days open to the public exceptionally in case of special events inside the Basilica.

  1. You must enter the Basilica of the Sagrada Família between 15 and 45 minutes before the chosen time to visit the towers. On your tickets you will see the final entrance time to the basilica.

  2. To access the top of the Towers there is an elevator that only goes up, there is no access to go down. We recommend walking up to be able to contemplate all the views from the stairs.

  3. Access with dangerous objects, narcotic substances, drinks or food will not be allowed.

  4. Children under 6 years old are not allowed to visit the Towers and children between 6 and 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

  5. Caps and hats are not allowed inside the nave or in the museum, except for religious, religious or health reasons.

  6. Transparent clothing is not permitted.

  7. Pants and skirts that do not cover at least mid-thigh are not permitted.

  8. Swimwear is not permitted.

  9. No celebratory attire of any kind or ornaments designed to distract or attract attention for artistic, religious, promotional or other purposes are permitted.

  10. All visitors must leave their bags or backpacks in the corresponding lockers at the entrance before going up to the Towers.

  11. Due to limited availability, it is possible that the time slot chosen for your visit may vary by up to 60 minutes.
  1. Buy tickets in advance: It is best to buy the entrance to the Sagrada Família online because tickets are limited. It often happens that on busy days, people go directly to the ticket office and can not access the basilica. Although it is an entrance without queues, it is advisable to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid delays.

  2. Visit Early or Late: To avoid the biggest crowds, try to visit early in the morning when it first opens or later in the afternoon. This way, you’ll enjoy a more peaceful experience and can appreciate the architecture without too many people around.

  3. Use the Audio Guide: The Sagrada Família is rich in history and symbolism, and an audio guide can help you better understand the meaning behind Gaudí’s design. Remember to bring your own headphones to listen to the audio guide with your phone.

  4. Explore the Towers: If you’re not afraid of heights, consider visiting one of the towers for breathtaking panoramic views of Barcelona. You can take an elevator up, but be prepared for a narrow staircase on the way down.

  5. Respect the Dress Code: As the Sagrada Família is still an active basilica, visitors are expected to dress modestly. Avoid wearing sleeveless tops, short shorts, or skirts. It’s always a good idea to carry a shawl or scarf just in case.

The audio guide of the Sagrada Família is available in 17 languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Hungarian, Korean, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, Dutch and Ukrainian.

The audio guide can be obtained by downloading the official Sagrada Família application through the following links:

We booked and bought tickets online. It was not the busiest season, but even in October it was 27 degrees in Barcelona and the Sagrada Familia was packed with tourists. Buying online saved us a lot of hassle. Getting in was quick and easy. In my experience a reliable service, and highly recommended. The Sagrada Familia must be one of the Seven Wonders of the World of our modern era.

There were no problems ordering or receiving tickets online. We had some difficulty identifying the correct ticket. However, overall the visit far exceeded our expectations as we had never been there before. Such a wonderful building, what a man he must have been. How lucky Barcelona is to have such a beautiful building.

It was amazing. It was very helpful to buy tickets before leaving the US to avoid long lines or worse, not being able to get in. The only disappointment was that I didn’t realize I needed another ticket to ride the elevator up and that there were no same day ticket reservations.

The audio guide was great and descriptive, but did not drag on. The guide was brief, clear and well thought out. Segrada itself is amazing, of course. There is so, so much detail to see. Very impressed and will be interesting to see it when it is finished.
