Services Hours

Aside from being a unique temple, la Sagrada Família is in fact a functioning Roman Catholic church and mass is held every Sunday morning at 9 AM and Saturdays at 8 PM. The service lasts about 1 hour and it is performed in several languages to accommodate locals and tourists. The entrance is free of charge.

Space inside is limited, so entrance is on a first come and first served basis. If you wish to attend a service, you should be at the entrance close to the Nativity Facade before 8:30 AM for Sunday mass and 7:30 PM for Saturday service. There are some special dates for church services that take place throughout the year. It is essential that you dress and behave well when you attend mass.

Doubts about the Sagrada Família schedule

The Sagrada Família typically opens at 9:00 AM.
The closing times can vary depending on the season, but generally, it closes at 6:00 PM in the winter months and 8:00 PM in the summer months. It’s advisable to check the official website for specific closing times during your visit.
Masses are usually celebrated on Sundays and holy days of obligation at 9:00 AM in the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament and Penitence. Special masses and events may be scheduled at different times.
The mass typically lasts about one hour.
It is recommended to allocate at least two hours for a thorough visit to the basilica, including time to appreciate the intricate details of both the interior and exterior.

The best times to visit are early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the crowds are thinner, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
